Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Total different style of hurling back then.
That ended in 2006.
By the way I think Kingston has a valuable role in the squad. Just not a high ball winning starter. Rather as a sub fed the ball and running hard at tiring defences.
Kingston not as bad in the air as some say here
Joe Dean was not the tallest and was ok in air

Kingston is six foot, however he's never made any impact at intercounty level as a primary high ball winner.
Tbh I'd be happy if he starting winning all the low ball that was fed into him the last time never mind winning high balls
Never seems to be the same player when they start him as opposed to the impact he makes coming on in the second half.

We need at least 4 guys in the forwards who can win both high or dirty ball. Actually I would say we need 5. Kingston, Hoggy etc have a role to play but probably not for a full game anymore.

And you were making excuses for him

So when you say Collins shouldn’t be reigning high balls on top of “someone like Kingston” what are you suggesting as the alternative?
That he shoot low fast ball to him on the run just like I wouldn’t want that kind of ball to someone like Brian Hayes.
