I'm seeing a definite increase in junkies in Cork lately, one lad yesterday by the City Hall was like someone from the walking dead. Tourists were taking pictures of the building at the same time, not nice to see them feeling obviously unsettled by him.

City Hall, about 100 meters away from probably the biggest cop shop outside of the M50. Did you notice any gardai around to move the zombie on by any chance?

Engage him? Drunk and disorderly used to be something you could be put in the cells for back in the day. Would "being a menace while under the influence of narcotics" not fall under that?

Moving them on to where though? The city hall is only over the bridge from lower oliver plunkett st area which is a deeply unpleasant
area of the city , strangely enough about a year ago i walked down the boardwalk by the clayton early one morning there was a large garda presence..
