Chipper Vans and Other Mobile Food Units

Any decent ones you have come across? I always remember the green hut outside Inishannon run by the Dutch guy. Don't think anyone took it over after him.
I got haddock and chips by the bridge in Kinsale yesterday. Fresh fillets battered when ordered, very tasty.

There must be dozens of them on the go these days.

Robert was the Dutch guy. Used to stop there all the time when on the road. Lovely scoff to be fair

What closes these places down?

Not enough passing trade?

Excessive health and safety?

Or is there more money to me made by doing the "foormers moorket" and festival circuit.

guy by the lake at castlemyther is gone also.

Probably a bit of all the above. Pubs were busy back then too so it's fair to say that due to lifestyle changes not everyone is a fan of clogging their arteries on a daily basis.

You have to pay for your spot if it's a good one. Insurance, everything adds up.
