Performed by Tara Viscardi, a musician from Lauragh on the Beara Peninsula, alongside Robert Harvey, Beara will take audiences on a musical journey through the landscapes, stories and traditions of the peninsula. Blending original compositions with traditional tunes collected in Beara since the 18th century, the programme will celebrate the region’s rich cultural heritage. Inspired by the legend of Princess Beara, the performance will explore themes of place, belonging and memory. Audiences will experience music composed by the Dwyer family of Caolrua, tunes inspired by the Beara Book of Wonders, and the renowned O’Sullivan’s March. Through music and storytelling, the performance will offer a unique reflection on the history, folklore and enduring spirit of Beara.
