Stitch a Storybook Creature is a relaxed drop-in workshop inviting people of all ages to slow down, get creative and make their own woolly bookmark inspired by Irish animals, folklore and materials. Using real sheep’s wool, wool felt and simple hand-stitching techniques, participants will create creatures inspired by Ireland’s native wildlife and old stories — from foxes and swans to creatures drawn from Irish folklore and imagination. The workshop is designed to be very accessible, with different ways to take part depending on age, confidence and skill level. People can choose from simple no-sew collage and decorating options, or try beginner-friendly hand stitching and appliqué to create a tactile finished piece to bring home. All materials will be provided, including natural wool, wool felt, card templates, thread and needles. The materials are mindfully chosen and are natural, sustainable and Irish-made. This is a relaxed, hands-on workshop for adults and children aged 7+. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are very welcome to come along on their own.
