Ár n-Áit present an afternoon and evening of live music, DJs and collaboration, celebrating the cultures and creative communities of contemporary West Cork and beyond. The programme begins at the Rock Amphitheatre with local talent Múiris, before moving to Ár n-Áit for an eclectic evening of music. Cork drummer and composer Dan Walsh brings FIXITY, his acclaimed experimental project where free jazz, rock, noise and improvisation collide. Dublin’s Living Things bring their genre-defying Afro-soul sound, fusing Afropunk energy, progressive grooves and soul. Formed by musicians from diverse cultural and musical backgrounds, their music is built around groove, connection and a shared belief in music’s ability to bring people together. The evening culminates with Yankari Afrobeat Collective, led by Nigerian composer and bandleader Segun Akano. Their high-energy sound draws on Nigerian musical traditions, combining driving Afrobeat rhythms with jazz-infused horns, guitars, organ and voices. Yankari have performed at Cork Jazz Festival, All Together Now and TradFest, and appeared on RTÉ’s Tommy Tiernan Show and Radio 1’s Arena.
