New Irish Art brings together a selection of new work by artists working across the island of Ireland.While Lavit Gallery has a long-standing commitment to championing Cork-based artists, the exhibition also reflects the importance of maintaining a national perspective. By showcasing artists based across Ireland, New Irish Art offers audiences the opportunity to engage with a diverse variety of talent. Many of the featured artists live and work outside their native counties – or indeed their country of origin.The exhibition title also speaks to the idea of a modern Ireland: one that is less parochial, more fluid and increasingly multicultural, with a national identity that continues to evolve.Artists participating in the 2026 edition of New Irish Art include Collin Crotty, Gabhann Dunne, Vanessa Jones, Vera Klute, Michael Quane RHA, Michael Kobuladze, Ailbhe Ní Bhriain, Bennie Reilly, John O’Reilly and Charles Tyrrell.As part of Culture Night, Gallery Director Brian Mac Domhnaill will lead a Collecting Art Talk & Exhibition Tour at 5pm on Friday 18 September.
