A local guide walks a small group through old Cork, telling the city's stories where they happened. You meet outside The Counting House on South Main Street and walk 2 to 3 km over 75 to 90 minutes, past Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral, Elizabeth Fort, Red Abbey, Nano Nagle Place, South Gate Bridge, Bishop Lucey Park and the Grand Parade. The stories run from the walled medieval city through the butter trade to the rebel years. Walks run every Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 and 13:30, in English, and assistance dogs are welcome. Book at touringcork.ie; same-day places stay open while they last.
