“Ireland’s favourite Avant-punk quartet” Gilla Band are hitting the road for a string of Irish shows to mark a decade since the release of The Early Years EP. “We released The Early Years EP 10 years ago and as we approach the 10 year anniversary of our debut album we wanted to do a run of shows across Ireland playing a lot of our older material as well as a bunch of unheard new material,” say the band.
Reissued and remastered, The Early Years EP collects out-of-print 7” singles and covers originally released on Any Other City Records and The Quarter Inch Collective, and later re-released by Rough Trade in 2015. Fan favourite “Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage” — the band’s eight-minute, genre-smashing take on Blawan’s post-dubstep banger — features alongside The Cha Cha Cha, now “remastered... and ready for the dancefloor once again.”
A rare chance to hear the past, present and future of one of Ireland’s most singular live bands — all in one set.
