We are thrilled to have Elizabeth Cope, one of Ireland most prominent contemporary painters, take part in the Banshee Festival. In her powerful artworks the artist deploys a wide personal iconography of lobsters, domestic implements, gardening tools and tennis rackets which often combine to hint at a layer of violence. Living and working in County Kilkenny, she has exhibited internationally for over 50 years. This in-conversation at Bandon Library will be a unique occasion to hear and see Elizabeth, as she paints, in conversation with her husband Geoffrey. This wonderful opportunity is supported by the Crawford Art Gallery outreach programme.
