What bus brand were they again? DAF?
No those were made by Bombardier in Shannon, they used to have Detroit Diesel engines in them so sounded just like the city buses in NY at the time.

You are correct about DAF ones alright, there was a batch of them leased and indeed purchased outright and did indeed operate on city routes

Ya I remember they were quite noisy and rattled a lot

Thanks for that Mer, I do remember seeing DAF ones around the turn of the millennium or so (probably newer models)
