I'm not sure if that has improved or disimproved things. I think they should really have looked at giving the winners of each Divisional Junior A championship the option of a place in Division 5. The likes of Iveleary, Kilmurry, Knocknagree would be better than Clon, Douglas and Carrigaline 2nd teams anyway.

The leagues aren't taken seriously enough by the clubs/players though, that's the bottom line.

Bit harsh on Fermoy being in division 3 ahead of teams they finished ahead of in league and champ.

I hadn't even noticed that. Premier Intermediate finalists, finished 6th in Div 2 and they get relegated. Cill na Martra finish 7th in Div 2, lose lower Intermediate semi final and stay up. What in the name of God is the story there?!

Fermoy took the piss and threw about 3 or 4 games at the end - maybe that's why they went down!

North Cork Junior A football championship game on September 11th,
Premier Intermediate Football Semi on 17th,
Prem Int Hurling Semi on 24th, replay on 30th,
Dozen or so players involved with Avondhu for Senior semi on October 2nd,
Prem Int Hurling Final on October 9th,
Prem Int Football Final on October 23rd.

There are 3 league games down as being "conceded by Fermoy", all of them between Sept 29th and October 2nd. This a week when a lot of their players had 3 of the biggest games of their careers.

If CCB are punishing them for not playing these league games in the middle of that schedule then it is not ridiculous, it's idiotic. The truth of course is that the board want all games completed (even if that means dozens of walkover's instead of actual games) by end of October so they can boast about having met some self imposed deadline. Fuck player welfare, fairness or football development. It's all about things being neat and tidy for the annual report by An Runaí.
