Liam Miller Memorial Match

And we'd have to pay at least 500 Euro per game to watch them in a stadium with capacity of 7K :)

I hope to get a few of the tickets. Lad will be gutted if we don't as he doesn't miss CCFC home games; we were at the Scott Brown testimonial which donated to Liam Miller's family; and we attended Liam's funeral too.

But I won't be buying a table at the reception in City Hall afterwards. 4K per table means it's out of our league.

whys isnt that game played in a bigger stadium, like pairc Uí Chaiomh?

is that because of these medieval rules that stop foreign sports to be played unless top money is paid?

Croke Park can play foreign sports. But any other ground has to put a motion through Annual Congress, next one which isn't until February 2019.

Don't think it's down to money tbh. GAA have a rule that other than CP there has to be a convention to free up grounds to permit the playing of sports seen as a competition to GAA. Pity it can't be done on a local level with each county board being given the latitude of a convention decision within their county.
Think this Liam Miller match would have easily passed a convention of CCB which would have been much easier and quicker to organise than a national convention.
It would also have shown PuC (and CCB) off in a good light
