Immigration Thread

We need immigrants to do the work that we no longer want to do.
We do not need scum, we have plenty of them already.
Shame we cannot learn the lessons here of other countries such as Germany and Sweden.
Cotton need a pickin boss?

If we are in a position to welcome immigrants then they should be afforded the same opportunities as us.
Flooding Ireland and leaving them homeless and without opportunity is not humane.
We are not here to use them but to help them.

Anybody who comes here to work should take preferential treatment over those who come here to free load.

Any non-EU citizen coming here to work should be applying for a Visa like everyone else.

Show they've the means to support themselves in the interim.

Instead of economic migrants from safe countries just bypassing the visa system by pretending they're being persecuted in Nigeria/Georgia/etc.

Anyone who destroys their travel documents should be detained and deported. Under the Immigration Act 2004 its punishable by up to 12 months in prison or a €3,000 fine, for an adult to land in the State without a valid travel document. Yet we seem happy to not enforce our own laws and let the system be flooded with people who have no right to be here.
