Flood warning for Cork

People need help and deserve it, but this is tax payers money and needs to be done properly and fairly, some people have
no problem in govt writing a blank cheque for people in Donegal affected by mica, Yes they deserve to be looked after but not a blank cheque,
We do not even know how much the damages will cost to repair and that will take a few weeks to be assessed.

The idea that Leo or a MInister would just show up in Midleton yesterday and start writing cheques is simply ludicrous.

Set up new Govt. fund and apply funds once costs are in as business owners and householders need surity that the emergency expenses that they incur today etc will be covered.

So he was trying to say that and came out with what he did. Jesus. People need as much help as they can get.
Can go billions over budget on a hospital, spend billions on refugees but when it comes to helping business people and homeowners during a natural disaster it's like "woah, we need to be careful here."
The flood defences the people of Midleton were crying out for since 2015 would have cost less ffs.
Tds take the piss with expenses but heaven forbid we help people get back on their feet.
Completely agree with you re TDS fleecing the expenses, Right across the party board, shower of tramps,

Spot on.
Leo could have done this on Zoom for all he contributed in Midleton yesterday.
A €10m rescue package won't even touch the surface. Typical of this government that if they'd put in flood defences after the last flood in 2015 it would have cost less than what they'll have to pay out to fix residential and commercial properties aswell as infrastructure like roads, walls etc after this disaster.
Jesus... if he did a zoom call I can only imagine the comments on here....get a grip.

They have established an emergency Govt fund.

And the link in that is the already referenced humanitarian aid scheme.

Ive already looked into this m8.

You are just rehashing segments of newspaper articles and giving incorrect information.

There are no provisions for business and renters at present. Ive contacted the politicians responsible directly and am yet to recieve a response

Maybe they will organise something next week. Unless theres a lot more local noise (like Bandon) then I doubt it.
