Not the weekend's biggest matches but the Celtic challenge continues today. Can't see a twitter post like last week about the 4 matches, only one I can see is the City match v Wexford today at noon in PuC...

North Cork and Cork City won ther matches by 7 points and 4 points respectively. East Cork hammered Antrim and West Cork lost by 4 to Limerick.

Would Limerick just have one team in it? Not bad by west Cork if so. To be fair all the Cork sides seem to be doing well as in many cases they're playing counties with just one team. Still think the way Cork do it is better long term, more lads getting a chance

West really got the group of death playing against the 2nd teams of Limerick, Clare & Galway.

Yeah, good wins by East and North against the northern teams but particularly impressive by West and City. Limerick do indeed only have one team in it (only Cork with 4 and Tipp with 2 have more than one) and you'd have upto 10 or 11 of their minor panel eligible to play, so a 4 point loss by West to Limerick is good going. Better still by City, beating Wexfords only team (again with 10 or 11 of their minor panel) by 4 points. City were good value for it too by all accounts. Good work all round.

I saw Enda McEvoy, who has a hard on for Limerick, started his article today by going on about Limericks underage successes. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story and all of that....

City were impressive today down the pairc, v wexford with a good win, great work rate and a tight game throughout. A bit of a luck went their way with the goal from Philips, but you take them all. Pretty impressive so far in both matches particularly with no minors and when you see tipps gold team that they played last week (apparently their '3rd team'????) put up 8-32 v Down today! Isn't that Down team the actual minor team for them?

The northern teams are poor and it's doing them no good to be in with the top counties. East thrashed Antrim today (who would be a good bit better than Down). City will hockey Down next week which is no good for either team.
