Cork Hurlers - Part 2

5 championship games without a win and 4 straight losses, albeit narrow, hard to see anyway out of Munster from here. Long 12 months ahead.

I’ve a lot of time for Pat Ryan but it is hard to see him staying on after this year. Imagine we’ll be seeing O’Connor get the senior job.

Game was there for the taking, very disappointed in O’Donoghue and the extra man ultimately killed us.

Didn’t cost us the game but Owens is a poor ref and often loses control of games a lot, think someone said he gave out 15 cards by the end.

Agree.

It all went to crap when Dalton(excellent) and Harnedy went off.

SOD brainfart from the captain..christ.

As others have mentioned, this keepers distribution was very poor today.

Bringing on Meade is a joke lads, watch him for the Clare 3rd goal, cannot run. We need athletic dogs of wars midfield and tgey bring Meade. Makes so sense.

ROF dropped 3 balls and offered nothing positive. I'm a Robbie fan but was so poor.

Can we stop with all the Coleman talk being a great hurler, bang average when introduced.

At least kingston scored I suppose.

Positives
Very good first half

Connelly very good, Fitz good, TOM had a good first hand on Duggan before Duggan took over. NOL good. Joyce good.
Dalton played very well as did Harnedy.

Again the bench were so poor when introduced in 2nd half.
To be fair Dalton was absolutely spent when he came off. We needed his fresh clone to come on but we don't have one. Harnedys was wrecked as well, did very well but doesn't have a full game of that pace in him anymore.
Robbie O Flynn is clearly not fully 100% same as Colman.
Fitzy was a contender for man of the match.
Would have liked to see Ben Cunningham on the bench and coming on but not to be.
We don't seem to have dogs of war as you put it to come on.

Right, im sure some posters are going to lose their shit over today, and that’s ok, everyone has their opinions, but I’m not. Why? I thought we put in an incredible effort to stay in that game today, especially after the sending off

I will come back to todays game later but looking foward the bare facts are this, we are in a 3 way competition with Tipperary and Waterford for third. spot .

Limerick are beating Tipp as I post and they will beat us and waterford too, Clare will probably do the same to Tipp and Waterford although I wouodnt bank on them to be honest

But if they do then we need Tipp to beat Waterford and then we beat Tipp and all 3 will finish on 2 points with scoring difference to determine who qualifies.

That’s what we are now reduced to, and that’s what I’m clinging on to
Fair play R&B. I agree, the lads gave it everything.
We're on life support but still plugged in!
You'd hope that the players don't switch it off themselves after today.
There's still a glimmer so they have to pick themselves up and go again.

Absolutely shattered.

Harsh reality is, not good enough. Shane Barrett squares that ball to Brian Hayes we are eight points up. Niall o Leary fantastic throughout should’ve fouled his man before the Clare 1st goal.
Tim O Mahony is not good enough to play for cork. Anyone that says his efforts today are his work rate were incredible are missing the point. That is a given at this level.
Robbie oFlynn doesn’t look anywhere near Robbie oFlynn. SOD he will be hurting, he probably cost us a 50-50 chance of getting something from that game.
Patrick Collins- is he that bad? Puckouts look like they were getting caught in the wind.
The old guard stood up, but yet again, that’s not a solution to corks long-term problems.
We concede far too many frees and long range points, and we are not streetwise enough to nullify a complete gimp like Owens, that Ref loves to be the center of attention and we allowed it to happen. Being physical is not about bashing people on the head like we have said before it is about fighting to tooth and nail for every ball and not letting your man get the better of you.
Clare, were missing their best player today. We are just not good enough.

😂😂😂😂😂 pathetic man.

Far cry from your bullying of anyone here over the winter that told ya we are shite.

Cant make this shit up. Cant believe SOD got sent off . And for what . So silly . Ref rhode us all game . So depressing will it ever end with them
yellow is harsh but correct by the rulebook(3rd man tackle), O'Donnell also makes a meal of it, if ref is equally strict with yellows for the full match it probably finishes 12 a side, Horgan and Connolly certainly got fouled a lot
I think Clare would win anyway as they had already come level, our real chance was to kick on when we went 6/7 up,
at that point we had to win or draw the next 20 mins and we couldnt,
39 mins 1.17 to 0.13, 64 mins 1.23 to 3.23 so in 25 mins we score 0.6 and concede 3.10

Wouldnt waterford go through on head to head?

What’s most worrying is that not only can’t we win or compete in the air but now it seems we can’t win or compete for ground ball either. Poor as Collins puck outs were I’d hate to be in his shoes looking out at guys who you know are most unlikely to win the ball. Puck outs are crucifying us at both ends of the field. If there have 80 puck outs today (est) in total and your opponent wins 65 of those, you’re in deep deep trouble.

OK. Good man , a non existent puck out strategy and being bullied of the ball Is my fault. FUCK OFF . I will be supporting this team in 2 weeks and the Cork Football team after. Away now Langer
They had a puc out strategy you tool, but a lack of forwards to win it and more importantly a keeper unable to execute it. The real turning point was the sending off but we are still short a few physical players up front.

You weren't even at the ground you absolute fuckwit. All youre good for is repeating the same empty shit.
So once again,
Fuck off you tool and don't be annoying me.
