Hey Google, Just Give the Keys to Cork Trio

The latest update on Cork’s award winning young scientists Sophie Healy-Thow, Emer Hickey and Ciara Judge is that they’ve won the Grand Prize at Google’s Science Fair – basically the World Cup for young science.

The Kinsale girl’s prize includes a 10-day National Geographic Expedition to the Galapagos Islands, a visit to the Virgin Galactic Spaceport in New Mexico, and $50,000 in scholarship funding. Some craic they’ll have with all that!

Out of 5000 entries the Cork girls came first. BOOM!

It’s some unbelievable motoring from the Kinsale girls since they won the BT Young Scientist prize in 2013.

Their super-clever discovery that naturally occurring bacteria can massively increase cereal crop growth will reduce the amount of fertilizer needed to be used by farmers and make a big contribution to fighting food poverty.

Several Cork feens have also reported that rubbing the substance into their bald patches and faces increases hair growth – a huge bonus for teenage scobes trying to grow ‘taches.

Google, who are investing heavily in any new technology, need to face up to reality now and hand the Cork girls full control of their company if they want it to keep pushing boundaries and maintain their global dominance. We’ll take nothing less.

Adding the Cork coat of arms to Google’s logo is now the least we can expect.

Our three girls should be given full control of Google as soon as possible
