Speaking of Francos soup everytime I'm back in Spain I see less and less menu del dias on offer in restaurants Monday to Friday. Are they gradually phasing it out?

Still very common in Málaga at lunchtime.
It was never an evening thing.
The menu yesterday had amberjack tartar, tuna tartar and seabream carpachio.Carpaccio.... And other cold foods that normally would be cooked or heated are for people too lazy to cook.
Was it dolly years back that was espousing the beauty of beef Carpaccio with a raw egg on top?
I had cod carpaccio in Spain out of sheer curiosity. Filthy animals.
