What a horrible way of doing business. Last year's freak event apart, Keane had that Kerry team playing excellent football. Compare them with what Jack had Kildare playing and it's like chalk and cheese. Some outrageous arrogance from them as well. They lost after extra time to the eventual all Ireland winners, two years after drawing the final with the best team of all time at their peak, and apparently that's ground for dumping the manager in one of the most humiliating ways you can go about it. The actual quality of this Kerry side is being overblown based on minor victories which were never once backed up at U21/U20 level. And that with the Jack in charge and being out thought by Sean fucking Hayes. Was listening to Andy Moran compare the current Kerry backline to the 00's version and it's eye opening. Do they have a single back on the level of either Ó Sé, Tom O'Sullivan or even Macho Man? Paudie Clifford is the closest thing at half forward they have to Galvin or Declan O'Sullivan which is a serious fall. O'Shea and in particular Clifford are generational talents which will win you minor All Ireland's but you need strength across the pitch to win at senior. Wouldn't be surprised to see a fired up Kildare turn them over in the super 8s next year.
