On RTE Marty has now said it's a multi million 10 year deal

The County Board gives out about the media leaking stories but this leak must have come from the inside

But Sinn Féin councillor Kenneth Collins went a step further and said SuperValu should withdraw the deal.
A lifelong member of St Vincent’s GAA Club, he said the GAA community was in shock over the renaming proposal.
“This is an insult to Ó Caoimh’s name. To remove his name from the stadium for a cheque? The county board should be ashamed of themselves. Money isn’t everything,” he said.

Spoken like a true Shinner, like the rest of his comrades, zero grasp of economics. :)

Cork Hurling Supporters Page - these figures put a lot into perspective.
Again debt needs to be paid but in the grand scheme of things it's peanuts.

As you alluded to Marty has a different story on RTE so will be interesting to hear/see full story from tonight.

Erra with so many people involved it's amazing it was kept under wraps for this long.
Some shnakey yoke had to give "The Examiner" a click boosting scoop to start 2024.
So that they could come up with headlines such as:

Cork GAA fans upset at proposed name change of Páirc Uí Chaoimh

I guess "Cork fans considering the benefits of proposed name change" is far too positive.

Who needs facts when you can have a good ol' rant and chat sh*t about trolleys and the cost of a grocery shop.

Those are the current alleged facts from the media as of now.

Can't argue with simple math to be fair, if it's a full rebrand as reported should be easily 1 million a year.
Or as suggested keep the name, tell SV to do one and then try get more concerts (easier said than done) but have fixture schedules at risk.
