Thought the guy playing the adoptive father was very good.
I assume it was based in a gaeltacht area. They spoke English when they visited her parents.
Anyway, if someone can't speak Irish after 13 years learning it, then there's something wrong with them.
Admittedly mine has gone to sh*t from not using it,
I would say it's more vibrant than ever with the advent of gaelscoils tbh.
 
the swedish/irish society here in malmö had a special screening of kneecap a few weeks ago with english subtitles.

no irony lost on the swedish/irish society on neither being able to understand irish or read swedish.

saw it in the cinema, t'was ok, fassbender and the guy playng the teacher were good, the prod girl was a total lasher

one bit i laughed at when they had a scene with gerry adams on a dancefloor

music was not my bag at all tho', pretty boring tbh (each to their own tho')
