Threads (1984). One of those films id been meaning to get round to watch for years. 9/10, brilliant but grim as fuck.

speaking of grim! watched the bit in bold italics there last night. reread the book last week and then listened to stephen fry read the book. john hurt is brilliant as winston but the film hadn’t a patch on the book.

tough enough to reduce around 12 hours into two and get all of winston’s thoughts and feelings onto the screen. impossible to do the whole third part or be true to it in a film.

reread brave new world back to back with 1984 for the lolz. then the missus tells me there’s a brave new world series. i don’t think i’ll take that plunge tbh.
