Notice the difference between Patrick Street 1902 and 1937 photos above with the disappearance of the Military Governer's House on the skyline. Not to mention the Tricolour over the Savoy replacing the Union flags and ensigns. Trams and carts replaced by motorised vehicles too (The Greens must get a rash any time they see photos like that).

Now we will have to spend billions over the next few decades putting all that infrastructure back in to make the city sustainable or even work.
