A pretty underwhelming playoff round so far. Bucs v Commanders the only real excitement, Commanders staging another 4th quarter resurrection to "divisional doink" their way to a showdown with the Lions late next Saturday night Irish time.
Philly started on fire but fizzled out a lot in the face of a Packers D that put real pressure on Hurts. Whichever of McVay or Flores comes through from tonight's game will be looking at that tape intently before next Sunday.
Bills were the opposite to Philly, panicky in the first quarter and a half before settling to their task. The missed FG for Denver on the stroke of HT was crucial in tilting the momentum and the Bills took full advantage. Josh Allen v Lamar next Sunday night is box office.
Saturday nights games promised much but delivered little save for proving to me that that stadium in Houston has some sort of weird energy for visiting favourites. Herbert isn't the first QB to meltdown there (Josh Allen did so a few years back in a playoff game) but the Chargers tanked so badly it was embarrassing.
Looking ahead, Houston could give Mahomes a tough evening on Saturday but Spagnola will put Stroud under intense pressure too so it'll be whichever of them copes best will come through.
Lions - Commanders will be fun, two coaches who love to go for it on 4th down. Still don't trust Goff to not have brain farts and Daniels looks increasingly like the real deal. Coin toss.
As mentioned Philly should have enough offence to come through against whoever wins tonight but the injuries suffered in the defense could be costly.
Divisional Round weekend is so tasty this year. Cannot wait.
