She had a fantastic voice

I loved her. I stole my sister's Carpenter's tape and played it so much. I saw one of her last interviews and she was fading away badly. Very sad

Totally agree. Terribly sad. Originally a drummer but then her superb voice brought The Carpenters to record companies attention. Rest In Peace.

I saw a documentary which showed the mother to be a bit of a control freak. She caused Richard Carpenter to become addicted to sleeping pills for a long time.
KC wanted to look good for her husband and when they broke up she really started fading fast. Terrible waste and really sad.
