Do you act the maggot on the road, riding two abreast on a straight, narrow road or riding right out in the middle of the road when you've a metre or more room between you and the footpath, etc.?

If not, you've nothing to be concerned about.

If you were a cyclist you would know you can't exactly hug the curb although its safer to keep in from the road and passing traffic. Why? That is where you will find most potholes and other junk. The side of the road can be littered with potholes. This can make riding a bike difficult and downright dangerous.

Agreed and all they come back with is the tax argument.

They fail to remember that road tax is kinda paid by you everyone anyway. They get additional tax for CO2 emissions etc.

Road tax is paid by motorists, bus companies etc

Who in their right mind would ride a bicycle in London city center. I know there's the couriers who have to do it as their job but they should know it's a possible death sentence before they took the position. Holland is the place to go if you want to ride a bike in built up areas and not die.
