The next Government

Who will form the next government

  • Total voters
    56
  • Poll closed .
According to RTE report yesterday they thought his seat was pretty solid.

The FG TDs are falling like pins at the moment. There's a third of their sitting TDs not running again (for whatever reason), and there's rumoured to be a couple of more FG TDs likely to call it a day in the coming months - much to the chagrin of the FG headquarters.

Now I'm no fan of the Blueshirts but I must admit some surprise that in a party so inured to government, who are currently pulling the levers of power, there seems to be such a large exodus of their sitting TDs. Do they know something that hasn't been revealed to Joe Public just yet or is it all just simply a very large coincidence? ????

I'd say lot of it to do with thwarted ambition. With coalition government, there is little scope for ministerial office so prospect of another five years as a constituency TD is very unappealing. Cannon was junior minister up to 2014 but any chances of further advancement are slim bordering on non existent! Likewise Creed in Cork NW and Stanton in Cork East, albeit he is not far off 70 so age an issue there I'd say.
Griffin in Kerry another guy who probably realises that he is far behind in any race for ministerial positions if FG remain in a coalition after next GE.

McGrath to update us on the new fiscal rules.

The ECB won the war without a shot being fired...
800 years of conflict with the British and Paddy just hands it all over to new rulers.

Paddy stupid.
Imagine having long term budget planning for a country and an economic bloc to help avert future economic meltdowns?

What a total disaster.
