Cork hurling goalkeepers 2022

Anybody heat that Dalton may consider playing in goals for Cork?
Maybe just a rumour.
Heard it alright.... I think the ball is in his court so to speak.... I hope he goes for it as seems injury prone outfield.....he has it in his locker to strike long range frees too if he agrees....

Lads, I think a bit of perspective is needed here, he last played in goal for Imokilly in 2017 (he may have played one league game for Cork as a keeper circa 2019). Doesn't play there for his club and hasn't in an even longer time. I want Dalton on the panel as a forward, putting him in goal makes no sense to me.

Get
In a Ger Power kind of a way Mr Fenton

Agree 100% and it’s not a route I’d expect Pat Ryan to go down

I'd be very much in favour of Dalton getting a chance in goals. Give him the pre season games. If he impresses then let him fight it out with Collins during the league. If he doesn't then try him in the forwards during the league.

I hope he doesn't. Between Senior Prem and A there are 24 keepers playing regularly and people want a keeper who hasn't played in goal since 2017 and not even with his club, beggars belief really. You'd swear goal-keeping isn't a specialised position and it's not like we are even talking an all star keeper here.

Id have dalton all day ahead of the current no 1. The current cork keeper holds the hurley wrong, thats what ya expect from keepers in the weaker counties like dublin or westmeath.
