When I was a kid I never took part in any group sporting activities and I turned out just fine.

likewise but thanks to good responsible parenting by my mam and dad who
took us to lots of matches, day trips etc my siblings and i all turned out fine,
the main factor in kids turning out bad is lack of stable family life,

Bringing kids to a camp for a few hours is more hassle than not bringing them at all, either way kids love being with others their age and playing outdoors. All good, promotes them doing sports and activities and keeps them healthy

Cops and robbers
War
Kick the can
Kiss or torture
Run the galley
Building camps
Basic tradecraft and tracking
Breaking into building sites
Breaking into derilict buildings

We didnt need camps when i was young. There was the "summer scheme " but that was for poories.

Yeah, in my day the mothers tended to be at home all day and us kids would come and go as we please, we'd play sports among ourselves for sure but we weren't being hauled off to events everyday.

Camps are 2 hours in a day and the odd week in the summer, they meet new friends there and have a good time - whats the issue?
