Going to Southampton at for few days at end of this week. Looks a tad boring on the net.
Have any of ye been there ?. Hoping to find decent pubs , craic etc.

That's because you went to the wrong Southhampton. Try the one on Long Island. Better yet try East Hampton.

Went to Southampton years ago to catch the ferry to Cherbourg with my family. An absolutely depressing and dreary place, even in July.

I used to live there. It's a typical Southern city, very British. Good shopping and decent pubs if you can root them out nearer the center. The clubbing scene wouldn't be like it is up north and you have to be more dressed up but they get good djs too down there. Loads of beautiful women too.
