The Whileaways perform at Coughlan's, Cork as part of a very special seasonal run of Irish shows.
The Whileaways are comprised of three distinct and powerful voices: Noriana Kennedy, Nicola Joyce, and Noelie McDonnell. Though each had forged successful solo careers—touring and recording extensively with their own projects,—they came together in 2012 after years of admiring each other's singing on the session circuit in their native Galway City.
Their sound is defined by its sublime, often described as sibling-like, harmonies and beautifully crafted original songs. The trio ingeniously solves the dilemma of having three lead singers by becoming, in essence, one stunning, cohesive voice. They weave together influences from Irish folk, Americana, and country, creating a sound critics have hailed as "perfected simplicity" (The Irish Echo) and claiming the trio is "among the finest singers in the country" (Hot Press).
