The Fridge-ing: Thula Isaack

Granary Theatre UCC

Sun 10 May 2026
1pm
€12.50

How do you cast your love interest when she never auditioned for the role? Thula finds herself struggling to reconcile her queer identity with her stage persona. To be black, gay, and a woman is nothing more than a Pitch Perfect joke. At least it is to her; everyone else in Thula’s life has seemingly long since adjusted to the fact that nobody is simply a character in a story. But for Thula, if she is already playing the punchline, who says she can’t play the good guy instead?

THE FRIDGE-ING asks, what is love in times of performance?
