The official Dubliners’ stage show celebrates the music, songs, and story of The Dubliners, the greatest folk band of all time.
Created by The Dubliners’ John Sheahan with the band’s original record producer Phil Coulter as Musical Director, The Dubliners Encore is the official story of the band in their heyday. Rediscover the original bad boys of Irish music – the beards, the ballads, and the band that put Ireland on the world stage. This hugely talented cast captures the magic of The Dubliners singing all their hits, including The Wild Rover, Seven Drunken Nights, The Black Velvet Band, Whiskey in the Jar and The Irish Rover.

The Dubliners Encore is directed and produced by award-winning industry creatives Phil Coulter, Ceoladh Sheahan, and Maurice Sweeney. Phil produced six of The Dubliners’ original albums,
as well as writing some of their biggest hits. He now returns to the fold as the show’s Musical Director. John has said of Phil’s involvement,
There is no-one more qualified to steer this one-of-a-kind Dubliners experience. Phil has been part of the Dubliners’ family for decades, and he brings his immense creativity, musicianship, passion, and experience to the role of Musical Director.
Ceoladh Sheahan – Producer
Ceoladh Sheahan is a multi-award-winning film and television producer. She has worked on Ireland’s biggest television entertainment shows, including IFTA award-winning Room To Improve, Operation Transformation, and Bullyproof. Ceoladh’s film credentials include Róise & Frank, and Oscar-nominated Arracht. She also produced the documentary John Sheahan: A Dubliner which won two IFTAs (Irish Film and Television Awards).
A musician in her own right, Ceoladh shared the stage with The Dubliners on many occasions. Her rare insight into what it’s like to be part of a Dubliners performance, combined with producing four landmark Dubliners stage shows for television, gives Ceoladh an unparalleled perspective on the musicians and men behind Ireland’s greatest ever folk band.
Maurice Sweeney – Writer and Director
Maurice Sweeney is a renowned film and television director with a proven ability to capture the true essence of a story. He directed the award-winning documentary John Sheahan: A Dubliner during which he developed a close working relationship with John and an in-depth understanding of the history and story of the Dubliners.
Maurice’s achievements include directing and co-writing the critically acclaimed feature documentary I Dolours, as well as directing the three-part drama Penance, both of which were acquired by Netflix. He has won five IFTAs (Irish Film and Television Awards), was awarded Best Director at the London Independent Film Festival, and his film Saving the Titanic won the Gold World Medal for best docudrama at the New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards.
