'Stories & Songs' is a series of events across Ireland featuring acoustic singer-songwriter performances. The first events took place in Dublin at The International Bar, and now, for the first time, the initiative is coming to Cork.
The event is donation-based (with donations split between the featured artists), and there will also be an open mic between and after the performances, providing a space for anyone who wants to share their own songs.
This time, the featured acts will be:
WIKE
Wike Schippers is a Dutch singer-songwriter based in Cork. Her original songs are characterised by their introspective lyrics, through which, with a clear voice and great vulnerability, she lays her secrets bare. She lives somewhere between folk and musical theatre, drawing inspiration from the music she loved in childhood and the vibrant music scene in Cork. Accompanied by her piano or singing a cappella, she guides you through the life of someone in quiet pursuit of human connection and in vibrant pursuit of the self.
