Photography Exhibition by Cork based artist Pawel Curylo
Following explosion on 26th of April 1986 at Chernobyl's reactor number 4, radioactive material spread across much of the Northern Hemisphere. Thirty-three years on, the power plant is surrounded by both a hushed desolation and a buzz of activity: the sense of a ruined past and a difficult future.
In March of 2019, nearly 33 years after the disaster, I ventured into The Zone to see what it was like today...
The official opening of the exhibition and meeting with the author will take place on June 8th from 3 pm to 5 pm.
The exhibition is free of charge and will be open daily from Monday to Saturday 9.30 am- 5.30 pm until the end of June.
