Local multiple live band showcase. First up are Cavalcade, a young four-piece rock group from Cork. Their sound could be best described as a mix of the classic rock of bands like REM and U2 with sounds of The Frames and Coldplay. Also on stage tonight is Humit, a three piece band from Cork. Three part harmonies sustain tongue-in-cheek lyrics that ride on top of funky/rocky riffs.
Ballincollig based “The New Messiahs” (demo of the fortnight in Hotpress - July 2003)
create their own special blend of Nirvana infused post punk rock and have also won a residency in the Wolfhound on Barrack St. playing there every month.
