Just a brief synopsis of the play - Rossum's Universal Robots (R. U. R) written by Czech author Karl ?apek, who is one of the most important literary figures in Czech history. It was written in 1920 and is the most performed of all of his plays. It is considered the first play to feature robots! And it introduced the word robot to the English language and sci-fi as a whole.
R.U.R. made history by being the first science fiction ever broadcast on live TV in 1938 in England.
It paved the way for the sci-fi genre and the concept created the basis for sci-fi such as Blade Runner, Matrix, Westworld, Robocop, Terminator, Doctor Who and Star
