With a stylish set of shimmering Soul grooves, Sassy Swing-dancing jives and a touch of early Blues/NOLA-style earlyJazz, featuring many original tunes – Runaway Retros are going places!
The Cork-based, five-piece group consists of a vocalist, drummer, guitarist, saxophonist and guitarist.
Colette Forde, a charismatic singer/actress/playwright/dancer/songwriter, fronts the band on vocals (Colette’s one woman play “Innit” was a hit show off-broadway in New York two years ago, she’s now working on writing/acting for film and writes many of the original songs in the band’s set) Colette previously performed as part of the “Pixie and The King” duo.
Dave Barry – versatile electric and upright bass player (who’s toured abroad widely as part of “Two-Time Polka” – Cork’s famed roots/cajun band and more recently, with “Cookie And The Vaudevilles” )
John McGrath -noted Cork jazz/blues guitarist has worked in many Cork Opera House shows under David Hayes, Cork Everyman Palace Theatre shows under Cathal McCabe, toured extensively with legendary Irish folk-rock group “Loudest Whisper” and was a founder member and songwriter of the, now defunct, “Cookie And
