Piaras Ó Lorcáin is a traditional sean-nós singer from Crossmaglen, County Armagh, and one of the most distinctive young voices in Irish traditional song today.
Immersed in music from early childhood, he began singing at just four years of age and has remained deeply connected to the Irish language and its rich oral heritage ever since. Educated through Irish at Gaelscoil Phádraig Naofa, he developed not only fluency in the language but a profound appreciation for its storytelling and song tradition. During these formative years, he was encouraged and mentored by Bláthín Mhic Cánna, who recognised his natural ability and nurtured his passion for language, narrative and music — foundations that continue to shape his artistic identity.
