"Order, Counterorder and Disorder: The Cork Brigade of Irish Volunteers and the 1916 Rising" with Gerry White
The 1916 Rising lasted from 24 April to 29 April and fighting was pretty much confined to Dublin. Though it was one of the largest and best led units in the Irish Volunteer organisation, the Cork Brigade failed to take part in the Rising. This presentation examines to factors that led to this failure and the impact that the aftermath of the Rising had in Cork.
