Founded in 2013 by the highly respected violinist and pianist Mary McCague, the Munster String Quartet is a collective, comprised of some of the finest string players in Cork. Over the past decade, the ensemble has become one of Ireland’s most sought-after string quartets, performing at concerts, private events, corporate engagements and high-profile ceremonies throughout the country.
With an immense repertoire that spans classical, film music, pop and contemporary hits, the quartet is especially renowned for its unique and dynamic arrangements of modern music. In this regard, Munster String Quartet brings a fresh and exciting edge to the traditional string quartet sound.
The group exclusively performs Candlelight Concerts for Fever in Cork, presenting themed tribute concerts and selling out hundreds of performances to date. Their programmes have included hugely popular tributes to Coldplay, Queen, ABBA, Taylor Swift, Hans Zimmer, Bridgerton, Leonard Cohen, The Beatles, Adele, and more.
