As part of National Heritage Week & The Ellen Hutchins Festival we're celebrating the incredible world of lichens with a day of lichen-themed crafts & feasting! Choose from two workshops or join us for the full experience with our day deal.
Morning Workshop (10am-12noon): Lichen Lampshades. In keeping with historical ‘thrifyness’ & ‘Make, Do & Mend’ culture – learn how up-cycle an old lamp frame & craft a stunning lampshade using sustainably harvested local lichens. Tickets: €45pp
Afternoon Workshop (2-4,30pm): Lichen Dyeing. Delve into the ancient art of natural dyeing, discover the process & explore some of the stunning & surprising colours you can get from lichens! Leave with a sample of yarn dyed using local lichens. Tickets: €35pp
Lichen Day Deal (10am-4.30pm) Make a day of it & treat yourself to our morning & afternoon lichen workshops! Also included - a freshly prepared, home-grown lunch & entry to The Garden of Re-Imagination for walks & relaxing. Tickets: €95pp
