Venezuelan-born. Cork-based. Award-winning comedian.
Lesly Martinez brings Immi-Grand! to CoCo Comedy Club — a solo stand-up show about immigration, Irish culture, relationships and the strange experience of trying to build a life somewhere that still occasionally makes you feel like an outsider.
A winner of the Ballycotton Comedy Festival G.O.A.T Competition, a Show Me The Funny semi-finalist, and a regular on the Irish comedy circuit, Lesly has performed across Ireland and internationally, supporting and appearing alongside acts including Chris Kent, Mike Morgan and Ross Browne.
She was also part of the touring show Immigrants Ruin This Country LIVE, bringing immigrant perspectives and stories to audiences around Ireland.
And just before this CoCo show, Lesly will appear throughout Virgin Media’s new comedy series Stand Up If You’re Racist, starring Martin Angolo, which premieres on Sunday 4 October. The series follows Angolo as he puts together a major multicultural comedy showcase.
Immi-Grand! is Lesly’s take on life in Ireland from the inside and the outside at the same time — personal, sharp and very Cork.
