Kate is studying for her final year of the Popular Music degree in the Cork School of Music. Having studied Classical and Irish Music in Maynooth University, Kate has much experience in the Arts in her native Kilkenny.
Before moving to Cork, Kate performed extensively in theatre, choral groups, choirs and has also played violin with youth orchestras. She has also taught music in primary schools and lists as her influences artists as varied as Amy Winehouse, Prince, Bowie, Thom Yorke, Carole King and Donny Hathaway. Her true vocal qualities are most suited to Jazz and Soul and she has gained quite a following via her performances during the Cork Jazz Festival and Soul in the City. Kate has appeared in venues such as the Bru Bar, Gallagher’s and The Metropole Hotel.
