Jerome Rimson is an iconic Detroit-born bassist, vocalist, and musical director who has spent years based in Cork. Known widely as the "Detroit Hit Man," his legendary career includes extensive work with Van Morrison (serving as his musical director and bassist for a decade), Philip Lynott and Thin Lizzy, Steve Winwood, Roger Chapman, and Stomu Yamashta's Go.
When performing around the live music circuit in Cork, Jerome often performs with a rotating collective of stellar local and international musicians. Depending on the lineup, configuration, or context, projects featuring him and his regular collaborators—such as guitarists/vocalists Jeff Ward and Eugene Brosnan, and harmonica player Andrea Bonino—are often affectionately spoken of or billed in connection with blues, soul, and classic cover lineups (sometimes overlapping with groups like Inner City Blues or performance lineups fondly referenced as "Jerome Rimson & Friends").
