Artist Statement:
Immersed/Tumtha in the waterscapes and landscapes of County Cork and County Kerry, I share my observations and inspirations through photography, text, and foraged flora and fauna. The richness of these stirring and wild places has provoked my biophilic relationship/nasc leis an dúlra, guided by texture, vastness, detail, history, and awe. Woven constructions are inspired by the empowering, rooted, and nurturing story and legacy of St Brigid/Naomh Bríd — referencing timeless truths and interconnection.
The past is present here. Enchanted by Ireland/Éire, I have allowed her narratives and splendor to seep into my soul. Humbled and grounded, a love/grá has grown for these waters/uisce and all that they nourish, provide and hold. From across the vast Atlantic, the pull to Éire has existed for years, as if with the inland currents and coastal tides.
