Join Cork's own Ger Wolfe to launch his latest album on Sunday November 23rd at 2.30 p.m. at a pop-up free event in Shanley's Bar and venue, Connolly Street, Clonakilty.
“Songs From Freeman’s Ballyvourney Collection" has been 7 years in the making, a labour of love where Ger sings songs from a collection gathered in 1913-14 i nGaeltacht Múscraí by A.Martin Freeman, published in 1920-21 and famously brought to light again by Sean Ó Riada in the 1960’s.
The collection includes songs like the well-known ‘Aisling Gheal’ and 'Allelú na Gamhna'.
Come along for an hour to hear some of the songs from the album and maybe even 'The Curra Road'. A blast of good music to brighten up these dark early-winter days.
The first single from the album ‘Fáinnín geal an lae’ spent three weeks on the RTE radio recommends list and is now available on-line., orders for the C.D. as a download or a physical copy are available from 11th November from his website and bandcamp page. Click on
