Clonakilty International Guitar Festival

Clonakilty, Co. Cork

Wed 17 Sep 2025 - Sun 21 Sep 2025 (note: this event has already taken place)

Music fans of the world unite! The means of expression are under siege, but there are still some safe refuges that value creativity, community and independence. Guitartown returns to Clonakilty this September 17th-21st for the 21st edition of the greatest little festival ever to pluck a string. Our youngest headliner is 18 years old, our oldest headliner is 83.

In between we have a fingerpicking, head-banging, eye-catching conglomeration of virtuosos, rogues and three-chord heroes, all descending on the seaside town for one glorious weekend of revelry.

We have a range of headline shows, a massive free session trail that takes in every nook and cranny of the town, plus an extensive education and community outreach programme. In Guitartown, Clonakilty itself is the stage, and we transform the town into a magical playground of musical possibility, where you never know when you’ll stumble across your next new favourite ban
