The Blackpool Block Party takes place on Sunday 23rd August on Great William O'Brien Street, in Blackpool, Cork, and is a celebration of community and everything local. As part of the festivities this year we're hosting a free communal lunch with ingredients sourced from community gardens across the northside of Cork City. After lunch, there will be a free afternoon tea baked by the local community, a ceile, live music, arts and crafts workshops and displays, storytelling, repair workshops, clothes giveaways, bric a brac, plants and flower giveaways and outdoor games. This event is both a party and an expression of community resilience and self-reliance, and it's our hope that it will continue to develop and grow over the coming years.
